Why Water Matters

Be YOU.

I love the concept of water. We drink it. We need it to survive. Some may say water can bring us peace. Some of us enjoy fishing. Some of us enjoy being on boats. Some of us enjoy going on cruises. Some of us enjoy going to the beach. In some way shape or form, we need water to survive, but water can also be our vessel to peace.

The human body is composed of 50% to 70% of water. Didn’t know that? Yes we are made up of water. Humans need water on a daily basis to remain hydrated. We can last from anywhere between 3 to 5 days without water, but anything after that can become fatal.

Approximately 232 million years ago, during the late Triassic period, Earth experienced a downfall of rain. The million year rain was named the “Carnian Pluvial Event”. During this event, it was triggered by a mass amount of Volcanic eruptions in the Wrangellia Terrane that lasted between 1-2 million years. Essentially everything living on Earth during that time was wiped away.

Water makes up 71 percent of Earth. The Earth’s Oceans make up about 96 percent of Earth’s water. That leaves the additional make up to be of land which covers 0.05 percent. Think about that. Think outside of the box. Where do you live right now? Do you live in the United States? Do you live in Asia? Do you live in Europe? Do you live in Africa? Do you live in the Caribbean? Do you live in South America? Where ever you are- I want you to truly think about where you live. Some of you come from major cities, medium sized cities, or smaller sized cities. Well, wherever you are, that land mass isn’t even 1 percent of Earth’s makeup. And in my eyes, I would imagine that the mass that covers the Earth is extensive.

The same thing that can give us light can also be the same thing that takes us away from this place. Truly think about this. I know some of you may say, well that’s obvious, but hear me out. We as human beings need water to survive. But, think about tragedies or unexplainable events that have occurred within humanity’s timeline. If you’re biblical.. Remember Noah’s Ark? GOD was upset with the way humanity was shaping out and ultimately wanted to wipe out the Earth. So GOD called upon Noah for a restoration to humanity. And that’s what he did. GOD wiped away the Earth. For other’s that are not biblical. What do you believe that happened? Do you think that an asteroid hit the Earth where it caused a mass amount of destruction within the Earth? Sure. You can think that. But, to me that still doesn’t explain why it caused rain for 1-2 million years. But, I’m not hear to change your perspective. I’m only here to expand it. Things like this can truly make you think. Or think about natural disasters or environmental disasters that have happened throughout history. As a kid, I was fortunate enough to live in Upstate New York where we did not encounter many scary environmental disasters. Upstate New York is not accustomed to hurricanes, faults, tsunamis, droughts, or twisters. But, growing up I was able to see through the news that terrible events can happen depending on where you live. I was able to learn about Hurricane Katrina. I was also able to learn about Hurricane Harvey. My heart truly goes out to all people and families who were affected through these environmental disasters.

In light of this conversation, water can both give us light, but also be detrimental in some ways. Now, when you read this post I don’t want you to hate water or go on a water fast. Please folks, drink your water. It is an essential way of living. I’ve actually learned to appreciate the little things in life. Some of us may have no idea how essential water is in our lives. I had a friend previously tell me that she had a headache. And I proposed something small to her.. Did you drink water I said? She goes no. Well there you go! Hydrate. And that will solve your problems. I’m sure that headache went away slowly after.

Water gives me peace in many ways. Because whenever I feel my days are heavy, I will listen to ocean waves or water sounds that can bring me back to baseline. Or, I think about times in my life where I was able to go to the beach and be on the sand with sun hitting my body. Or I thought about times where I was able to go to a nearby park, to listen to a nearby pond, and journal my experience. Even thinking about going to a beach right now in this moment would probably mean the world to me.

I truly encourage you to expand your mind of thinking. Yes, drink more water. But, also learn to spend time with water or be around it. Listen to the water. Listen to the calmness. Listen to the silence. Journal your experience. Go to the beach. Go on a boat. Go fishing. It’ll bring you much peace and calmness in your life. I understand that I am writing this post during the winter. It’s February. Most of you are saying-dude, it’s the winter. What’s in it for me to be around water in the winter right now? That’s fair. It doesn’t mean you can’t imagine. It doesn’t mean you can’t look forward to something. It doesn’t mean you can’t travel to a place that has it. It doesn’t mean that you can’t do absolutely nothing until the weather gets warm. We have Youtube. Where we are one search engine away from closing our eyes and imagining that we are somewhere near the water and attempting to capture our peaceful side. That same perspective can travel miles in this lifetime.

Be full of peace. Be full of life. Our bodies are made up of water. So we must be compatible with water to be the best versions of ourself. Just think about how fun it was when you are at the beach. Think about how you felt when you needed water during that intense workout. Think about that time when you had water with a really good meal that you enjoyed. Drink it. Be around it. Be peaceful.

Thanks As Always and Stay Hydrated,

From, Mr. Creator.
