We Need 4 Day Work Weeks & 3 Day Weekends

Be YOU.

You deserve a 4 day work week and a 3 day weekend. To whatever you do. If you’re a college student or an adult working full-time. This should apply to you. Too many times in our lives we highly dislike Mondays and cannot wait for a Friday to come fast enough. Before we even know it, we are right back to work on Monday and the weekend flies by, while our work week tends to drag.

I have a few theories. I think workers should have the option to work flex schedules. This allows workers to pick their own work schedules throughout the week while having the option to utilize Friday as their off days if scheduled correctly throughout the week. I personally would propose a 4 day, 10 hour work week. Another option can be to put everyone on salary and overtime can be an option as an additional work assignment. If you put people on salary, you can allow people to work Monday-Thursday and still allow them to cash in $60,000 a year if deemed necessary. I firmly believe that if you take care of the worker, the worker will take care of you and provide the best possible services necessary for your business. People tend to be underpaid, burned out due to lack of sleep and freedom, and lack work-life balance due to inadequate amount of time on the weekends. I think organizations and companies should do a better job of paying their own employees and highly emphasizing self-care, rest, and days off to your self outside of work. Having one additional day throughout the week to ourselves to spend time with our families and friends could amount to higher levels of happiness throughout the nation.

NAP TIME! Remember this? In pre-school this was apart of our routines. When you have an uninterrupted and much needed nap from a long day how do you feel? Nap time was a huge part of our lives as children. Why can’t this apply to adults? I also believe that every working company should allow at least 30-45 minutes for nap time for adults. Proper sleep allows us to function better, communicate better, become more attentive, and improves our mood for long hours during our work days. Nap time is apart of Japan’s culture for workers. It’s time to take notes America! Time for change.

I also think that if you extend business hours it can allow flexibility for workers to get things done throughout the week. Now, let’s also be mindful here. I do think that every day of the week should be accommodated properly. This can be the same for banks, grocery stories, shopping centers, etc. I think with flexibility it allows people to not be in such a hurry and can decrease the level of stress one is going through when attempting to juggle multiple tasks throughout the week.

The theme of this is simple. Employees need to be paid. Employees need time to rest. Because this is the reality. Many of us aren’t taught the game of life. When I mean this I say this in a way of treating yourself right and taking care of our bodies. When some of us get stressed out- we tend to drink, smoke, binge eat, or do very unhealthy things. Do you ever realize that when you are tired you tend to make bad decisions? If our country advocated for rest and self-care, the world would truly be a better place. We need more time to spend with our families, our friends, our significant others, our pets, etc. We need more time to travel, to get out of our comfort zone. The system needs to change. I’m hoping I am not the only one who feels this way.

Maybe, this is a sign you need to become a business owner. Are you tired of the 9-5 cycle? Are you tired of working in the day and leaving your work day to a gloomy evening? Well, maybe this is the blog you needed to give you some momentum. Being a business owner is not easy. You need a vision. You need to sacrifice. You need to learn how to sell a service. You need to be interpersonal with people and give the customers what they want. You need to have a team. You need to be a leader. And you need to be attractable to others to grow your business. But, escaping the 9-5 comes in many forms. Thankfully, we all live in the age of social media where opportunities tend to be endless. One can literally create a stream of themselves playing video games for hours on hours to make a full year’s salary in one month. Look at streamers like Kai Cenat, Speed, and Neon. Those guys can do whatever they want. All they have to do is go live on social media and it attracts thousands of viewers in minutes. You can get into real estate, the Air BNB business, or a buy land of your own to invest into your property. It isn’t easy. But, the point is there is a way out. It starts with a dream and solely relies on consistency.

We all deserve a level of peace. Because the reality is. They will not revamp the system. Our time here on Earth is extremely limited. Days come and go. Years go by. And then a mass amount of time flies as well. Because our time is limited. The message is clear. GO NOW! Plan that excursion. Change your career. Travel to that city you desperately want to go to. Ask that girl out on a date that you have a crush on. Be brave. Be courageous. Live in the present. Live in the now. Because if you don’t, you will be watching someone else do it! Use the best out of every situation you have. Yes, we have 2 day weekends that suck. But, in that 2 days, you can do a lot of meaningful things. I just hope that you move with purpose and take care of yourself in the meantime.

With Peace,

Mr. Creator
